Agave Margarita Fizz


Mason jar season ‘aint over until I say it’s over. One look at the haul I recently snagged while Target had a sale on them will prove that in my little world, it’s certainly not over. Labor Day 2014 has come and gone, and it kicked my ass in the form of Team ‘The Don’ and a few miles of paddle boarding in the process. However, that doesn’t mean that the weather will be too cold to kick back with a nice refreshing adult beverage anytime soon. Global warming, ya heard?

I can’t even tell you how much I’ve sweat this week between CrossFit, a golf tourney and a running a slow and slimy 5k this morning. Beyond ready for the temps to drop low enough to bust out the North Face fleece. Until then, I’ll be kicking back and keeping cool with this little concoction. Or, AC and The Office on Netflix. Yes, I’m fully aware that I’m about 10 years late on this.

I recently discovered Ripe Bar Juice, cold-pressed organic drink mixes made here in CT. I’ve found them at Whole Foods and a local liquor store. Looking at their website, we East Coasters are the lucky ducks who can get our fix straight off the shelf – others will have to order online. Gone are the days of sugar-induced margarita headaches!

Agave Margarita Fizz

  • 4oz Ripe Bar Juice Agave Margarita
  • 2oz 100% Agave Tequila (My pick is Patron Silver)
  • Top off w unflavored Seltzer or Sparkling Water

Shake Juice & Tequila with ice, top off with seltzer. Depending on your ambition level, garnish with salt & lime.

Aaaaaaand I just made myself thirsty.
